​Erasmus+ is the European Union's program to support education, training, youth, and sport in Europe. It runs from 2021 to 2027 with a budget of €26.2 billion. The program aims to create opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds, helping them to gain new skills and experiences through international mobility and cooperation.

Objectives

  • Promote Lifelong Learning: Support formal and non-formal education and training across all ages.

  • Enhance Quality in Education and Training: Improve teaching and learning quality through international cooperation and innovation.

  • Foster Social Inclusion and Equity: Ensure equal access to opportunities for all, including those with fewer opportunities.

  • Boost Youth Participation: Encourage young people to engage in democratic life and develop their skills through youth work and mobility.

  • Support Sport Development: Promote grassroots sports and address challenges such as social inclusion and equal opportunities in sports.

 

Key Actions

  • Key Action 1: Learning Mobility of Individuals

    • Student Mobility: Opportunities for students to study, train, or gain work experience abroad.

    • Staff Mobility: Opportunities for teachers, trainers, and other staff to teach or train abroad.

    • Youth Mobility: Support for youth exchanges, volunteering, and youth worker mobility.

 

  • Key Action 2: Cooperation Among Organizations and Institutions

    • Partnerships for Cooperation: Projects to develop, transfer, and implement innovative practices.

    • Partnerships for Excellence: Includes initiatives like European Universities, Vocational Education and Training (VET) Centers of Excellence, and Teacher Academies.

    • Partnerships for Innovation: Large-scale projects to foster innovation in education, training, and youth sectors.

  • Key Action 3: Support to Policy Development and Cooperation

    • Policy Reform: Support for policy dialogue, development, and implementation in education, training, and youth.

    • European Youth Together: Projects to connect young people across Europe and encourage active citizenship.

 

  • Jean Monnet Activities

    • Teaching and Research: Support for teaching, research, and debates on EU integration and policies.

    • Policy Debate and Exchange: Networks and projects to foster dialogue between academia and policymakers.

 

Target Groups

  • Students and Learners: From school education, vocational education and training (VET), higher education, and adult education.

  • Educational Staff: Teachers, trainers, school leaders, and other educational staff.

  • Youth and Youth Workers: Young people and those involved in youth work.

  • Sports Coaches and Athletes: Those engaged in grassroots sports.

 

Implementation

  • National Agencies: Each participating country has a National Agency responsible for implementing the program at the national level.

  • European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA): Manages parts of the program at the European level, especially centralized actions.

 

Erasmus+ provides a wide range of opportunities for individuals and organizations, fostering personal and professional development, promoting cultural exchange, and enhancing European integration and cooperation.
